Well as part of the Big Lebowski I moved all the occupants from my 55 gal discus community tank to a 120 gal tall... Now I can expand my collection a little but would like a little input first....
In the 120 is

2 Discus lrg 6" small 4" (used to be 4 but 2 mated and were separated)
3 Angels Juvies, about 2-3"
1 Clown Loach 3"
1 Zebra loach (not really a fan, had a snail problem)
1 Fire Eel, about 6" always buried in the gravel
3 Rams, rainbow full grown
1 Moray eel ("fw") 16" doing awesome has been in the community for over 2 years
1 L114 pleco (redtail leopard) 3"

So what else should I put in??
My plan was more discus (obviously), a few more clown loaches, a badass small growing pleco or 2 and some neons. What do you think? less stuff? different stuff? I would like to get a female to breed the 2 bigger rainbow rams eventually.
Thank you for your input

Interesting mix you have. Really neat. I would get more clown loaches they are a schooling fish and should be in groups of 4-6 at a minimum. Just my thought.

Definitely more clowns, they like to shoal.

Also, discus and rams prefer higher temperatures (84F-86F) that are detrimental to other fish. I don't know what your temperature is... perhaps you've found a compromise?

And Gymnothorax tile, the moray, is brackish. They often survive for very long periods of time in fresh water, but I can't imagine how taxing it must be on their system.

Also, that pleco is a carnivore, so waste might be an issue down the line. But as long as you've got superb filtration AND do frequent water changes as it grows bigger, I don't think you'll have a problem, as they won't hunt any of your fish down or anything.

I disagree on the very high temps... My discus are kept between 80F and never higher than 82F. I have a breeding pair in a separate tank that were raised from 1" that are at the same temp... 84F + is too high IMO

I have more loaches but they need to grow a little more before they can go into the tank.
Also aware of the eel and his needs (was raised from very small in FW, and has been FW for over 3 years, 2 of which with me) and the L114 and his needs... Also the moray has been thriving in FW since Ive had him growing over a foot in 2 yrs or so... A voracious appetite and playful demeanor. Eats out of my hand and has shown no ill signs ever

I agree more loaches and discus... but am I missing something?

GET LIKE 8 more DISCUS. and maybe like 10 more rams. That would look awesome. If you want some schooling fish that wont pollute, try red minors (Ragged). They are super common but they offset the discus really well, in my opinion.

i would never mix clowns and fire eels at least from my experience it was not good.I would also take out the moray eel.I am surprised you don't have missing rams?

I like your idea of a few cool pleco's and neons.
