Hi all... I have two 180's on my back porch which desperately yearn to be inside my house. We had to put them on the porch because these are upgrades, so there are tanks where these are supposed to go, and all the tanks are moving, and all the fish are moving, and we didn't have time to do all that before the movers moved them in. My question is, has anyone ever hired movers to just move a couple of tanks inside? How much would you expect to pay them? We'll move all the other tanks around, as they're all 125 gallons or under, so all they'll have to do is move the two 180's and their stands inside the house. about 25 to 30 feet from the porch to inside the house. It's not a long job, just a heavy one. Both tanks would be done on the same day. Thanks!

Sounds like you need to have some good friends....I would guess it would put you back a few hundred dollars? 180's are not that heavy have 2 strong friends do it for you

One person per corner and you shouldn't have any problems.

All of our friends are on disability from the military LOL not really able to help. That's why we've had movers move the tanks to where they are now. I was just looking to see if anyone else had this done, and what they paid.

You don't have any neighbors that you can just give a few bucks to to help? Or just give me one as I've been wanting one to replace my 150... :D

Wow, sneaky. But I think I'll keep them... my gars would bite my toes at night if gave their new tank away!

when none of my friends were available i went to home depot and there were some cool dudes that wanted to make some cash i just gave them 10$ and me and my dad didnt have to move a muscle. worked out for me and for the helpers

I would ask the neighbor's sons (they're not kids, or anything) but I'm afraid they'll drop it, and I'd rather have a company do it that is insured. The two companies that moved them before were insured, but they both swore that they'd never move the tanks again! I was like, thanks a lot. In this economy, I couldn't believe it. Anyway... I might just have to get some quotes, and take the lowest. They always hate me after they move them. I tell them it's heavy, but I'm female, so I suspect they think I don't know what 'heavy' is. Then they show up and about go potty on themselves. :grinno:
