Idk what type of fish you have but I moved during the summer and my black Nasties were still small so I ended up having to leave them in the bucket of water for 2 days just due to moving complications and exhaustion. I opened the lid here and there and swished the water around for aeration. I didn’t feed them and left the A/C off in the apartment so the temp stayed at like 77°. It mostly depends on how large your fish are because the larger they are the faster they will create ammonia. I ended up not opening my canister got the tank set up the following Monday (moved on Saturday) hooked the canister right up still full of water put the fish in and everyone was fine once they settled back in. Sometimes I don’t think we give our fish enough credit for being as tough as they are!!!!!!!!! Good luck on the move, I despise moving!!!!
When i moved my fish they were probably in the containers for 8 or 9 hrs.
Id definitly go with battery powered air pumps, temps should be fine just keep the heater in the car going (if need be)
I used plastic storage bins no air pumps of poly/surface breathers but cut holes into the lids.
Airpumps for cichlids/none surface bresthers and also a bin with an air pump to hold the biomedia.
