Im Contemplating buying a glass 8x3x2.5 but don’t know what it will take to move the tank. Has anyone moved a tank this size before ? How much man power did it take ?

What jsodwi jsodwi said. Also plan it out and don't rush it.

Spend the money and get the suction cups. I bought 6 to help move my 530g acrylic tank and it was a lifesaver. We did the move with 3 of us and dollies. Probably do need 6 guys.

Dang can’t believe you did it with only 3 guys.

Biggest problems to plan ahead for:

Doorways
Changes in elevation

2.5 ft. Is about the max you can squeeze through standard interior doorways, and this is usually with the door taken off the hinges and also remember you have to flip this huge tank on its side to do it.

Any kind of stairs amplify the difficulty of moving tanks by like 10x. Gravity is just not nice to dead weight. Staircases that turn at all are that much more difficult again.

If you dont have either of those should be easy enough with the dollies.

Make sure you never put it on the ground. Use pieces of wood and towels at any resting point. I chipped my tank when I tried turning it on the ground. Not a fun experience

Goodluck

We moved my 500gallon glass tank with 4 blokes without taking it off the steel stand, just carried the whole lot straight into the garage though mind you. Even transported it on the stand in a big van strapped down.
