Can you put in it its side and use a dolly to take it down some stairs???

I am not sure I can carry it down the stairs without more than two people (me and one other guy).

thoughts????

How many stairs are we talking??? I think it will be risky, but if you padded the dolly well enough it might work.. I would try and find a couple guys to help out if possible.

You want at least two big guys or four smallies. It would be best to carry it down the stairs rather than bump it along step by step however it is possible to do it if you're very careful and have carpeting underneath (I would do it without the dolly though).

I would put the bottom of the tank against the dolly to take most of the weight.

how is the dolly going to go down the stairs?

I wouldn't use a dolly no sense in possibly cracking the tank. Get you a few cron fed guys to move it. Me and another guy moved mine recently and it was hell. I'm thinking that since you will be going up stairs you will need more than 2 people to move it. I would get 4 at a minimum.

I would recommend going as slow and smooth as possible down the steps. Why does it have to be on its side? I would do everything possible to make sure the bottom frame of the aquarium is against the dolly.

two long 2x4s and slide it down the stairs. cardboard is good for sliding things in and out of cars, but I don't think it'll hold up under the weight of the tank on the stairs unless you get some really THICK cardboard- you could try to get a giant pumpkin box from the grocery store. They toss that stuff anyway and it's got to be 3/8" thick

I still don't understand how a dolly can go down a staircase, unless it's one of those rubber wheeled hand carts that you lean back, but even that would be nearly impossible with a 180. I would just put a carpet over the stairs and move it one step at a time.
