What kind? How many? And what size fish?

i'm moving into an apartment on the 27th and taking my 120 gal. i am going to have my fish in 2 18 gallon rubbermaid tub aireated while i paint the stand and set it up. i'll dump some hot water in there once in a while to keep it warm.

dont dump hot water in, just put in heaters. how long are you planning to leave them in the tubs? hang your filters on the tubs so your ben. bacteria doesnt die from starvation or from drying it out.

perfect_pREfect sorry to derail just had to correct him. by the way you dont want to add the hot water because it will spike the temp, you want to keep it constant, if you are going to be keeping them in the tubs for only a couple of hours dont use any heat, the water will hold its temp pretty well so long as the tubs are full. when you get the tank set and at the same temp as the water in there tubs just put them in and transfer the filters. also you wont need airators so long as you have the filters going. i transported a silver arowana for 8 hours in my jeep from st louis to northern iowa with no air or heat, water held its temp and no lack of oxygen.

how many hours is it going to be out? in 3 hours 18 gallons of water will stay within about 2 degrees as long as it is in a 70 degree room temp.

well i was going to paint the back and bottom of the tank and the stand black. let it dry for a good 6-8 hours then set it back up so i am looking at possibly a good 10-12 hours.
