Yeay but, that is you and you seem unusually lucky. Besides you live in indiana. There is less gravity there!!!!!
is that why i weigh more down there!?
and for some reason i do seem to have decent "luck" :grinyes:

When I had my reef installed I also had the cabinet guy build a matching stand for my 55 planted tank. It took some time to get that stand so when we got it my wife and I moved the tank from the old stand to the new. I put the old one right in front of the old, emptied it down to just a couple of inches (kept the water in some rubbermaid storage bins), we slid/lifted the tank onto the stand, pulled the old stand out and slid/lifted the new stand and tank back into the old spot. :D We had the water back in and running within about 30 min. This tank also was moved to this house from the old in the back of our volvo wagon. It has survived fine. Both moves with a couple inches of water and all the plants/gravel/wood. I took the fish out for the house move though. A typical 55g tank weights 70lbs empty I believe, correct me if Im wrong.

well as usual my lazy side prevailed and i left fish, gravel, and a couple inches of water in the tank.

fishfamily,
we moved the tank exactly how you described. we just had to lift it up several inches and over onto the new stand. i put some cloth under the new tank so that it would slide over easier. pretty painless.

I would suggest removing everything. Clearing up broken glass, sand and dead fish all over your house floor is not fun.

:iagree:

Im glad that worked out for you. Its hard to imagine what to do with it sometimes when you sit there looking at it knowing it weights a TON. Enjoy.

I went ALL IN and moved my 55 from one room to another @40 ft with 1/3 and @60lbs of sand and all my slate and fish.....with me another guy.....wasnt that bad....so they can hold to gether as long as ur not bouncing it around!

But I bet you moved it already by the time u get this!
