I moved my old RDs and media in a rubbermaid wrapped in duct tape to keep it from bowing out. 8.5 hr drive and they were fine.

just take this in mind. Fishes breath air, not water, it does not care if they have just the minimum of water to stay. but they really ned to have a good airation sistem

Technically they absorb dissolved oxygen, but who's keeping track? Driving sloshes the water around enough that oxygen exchange happens no problem (it only occurs on the surface of the water, so air stones really don't do squat until they break on the surface anyways).
