Moving This Weekend.. Im Nervous!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have used coolers for 2+ hour trips with aeration and had little or no temperature change. I temper the coolers by filling them with tank water and letting them sit, then dumping and filling them again just before adding fish. It is a little late now if you haven't already, but not feeding for 1-2 days before the move is good, just to crap them out before containment.

I dread the day I have to move my tanks... almost happened recently, and most likely I would have needed to go completely dry for a while until I got resettled. Instead I got a job where I am currently, so I am staying for a while longer, and get to keep my fish.

Hope you have a lot of buckets, good luck!

I would second getting a wood dolly. It wont help you on any stairs, but allows you to take your time and maneuver. They are about $30 bucks and you use again.

Any place you can rent glass suctions? If you can, it would really make 150 gallon with two guys not a problem. I borrowed from my tank builder moving my 260, but with 4 guys and it made a huge difference. It's not so much weight as it was getting a handle on glass, literally. Take you time and you will be fine.
