I am trying to buy a house, and might be getting one very soon. I would be moving about 30 miles south of where I am now into a old house.

It is cold here already and I am nervous about moving the fish.

I bought a 120gl and have not set it up or done anything with it, knowing I wanted to move. I do have an established 55gl with various fish I need to move. *sigh*

I dont have things for the 120gl yet. Other wise I would set that up first and just quick get the fish down there.

They would be either first go to or last to go.

I was thinking.... a two rubbermaid tubs.

Fill one with a few inches of water and attach a HOB filter to it and let run while I deal with the rest of it.

In the tub would be

1 Vampire pleco 5"
1 Common pleco 6"
1 rainbow shark 6"
1 spotted bullhead 4"
2 pims 6-7"
10 various tetra

Take tub #2

Put the gravel and decorations in the tub with some water to keep it wet.

- break down the tank - rush it to the house, set up, put gravel in, decorations, fill it, get fish use to the water using drip method.

Tank would be back up in about 2hrs from start to finish I would assume.

----

1) Should I worry about a heater if they are going from apartment, to car right to house? Car would be heated
2)Should I put both HOBs on the rubbermaid or just one? and if just one should I toss the filter pads in the water with the gravel etc for the bacteria?

be careful with rushing cause if tub 1 splashes around too much the fish will become stressed

well rush as in 65mph highway, no roads are that rough, and of course I would not carry them in a hurry and splash away. :) Thanks!

You could get a large cooler for the fish and run a heater while traveling, or just keep in an unheated cooler as that will not lose heat as quickly as a plain rubbermaid would

I love the cooler idea!!!
