Thank you everyone. i am very excited about these two. The male didnt start showing color til almost 5" then whammy it came full force. i had bought a couple other males from jeff that already had great color at 3.5" and was looking forward to a nice male. then out of the blue this guy shined through. plus he was larger then the others and paired up with her, so win, win situation for me
I totally recommend Dovii if you have a large enought tank for them. i have always seen pairs of other species work together to keep out intruders. but with these two. i watched the male lock up with another, and instead of the female just dancing around acting tough she started to attack the other male while he was locked up with her mate. Now if that isnt awesome, plus its a fast way to destroy any fish.
just for the record i put a stop to that immediatly. i dont want any fish to get hurt.
