Mrs. Toehead's 55g malawi tank

This is my wife's 55g african cichlid tank. We picked it up yesterday and spent about an hour and a half setting it up. Its the biggest/nicest tank she's had and she's so proud of it.
Its got a penguin 350 filter, marineland 250w stealth heater and a 48" coralife 50/50 bulb. We used crushed coral and lava rock along with a handful of plastic plants. Her stock includes: Ps. crabro, Ps. socolofi, Metriaclima lombardoi, Metriaclima callainos, Ps. "Acei", Ps. Zebra, N. venustus, M. johanni and a Botia modesta but we'll be doing some more fish shopping here soon.

A venustus, I am surprised. Have plans for a bigger tank soon?

But yes is it is a very nice 55 setup.

I agree venustus may get a little cramped in their full grown but for now sweet tank!

Very nice I like how you incorperated the plants in with the rock .Do you plan on getting any more rock or keeping some room for swimming??

Ah sounds good. I figured, just was surprised to see it in the tank.

i may get some more rock to stack higher but i think she likes it as is. shes not as anal about her tank as i am with mine.
the venustus was a last minute grab, it was a toss up between it and a livingstoni
