Now that I think of it I remember now...Mine some how got out of his tank and I found him all shriveled up under my entertainment center.

Are you sure you got the one with the gills and not with the big dumbo ears?

Yep, he had the gills, if I remember right he was silverish grey. I have no idea how he got out, their kinda slow and clumsy.

LOL! I'm gonna check on how many my sister wants tomorrow and gotta go shop for a new tank! I'm planning on using those growth gravel if u know what i mean, kinda like mud! and then plant tons of hair grass on the bottom! u think that'll be nice? plannin on keep it in her room! or do they have to live in dead empty tanks with nothing?

And if i recall, those mud puppies floated midway in the tank, stared at me and kept in the same position and never moved... i think he wuz trying to give me the message "i'm gonna die sooner or later in the hands of ur father"

I think I had mine in a gravel tank with around 3" of water. He just sat at the bottom of the tank. I don't really know anything about them. I was a young teen when I had mine and knew anything about them, I didn't have internet back then. Did you check out http://www.axolotl.org/? It seemed to be a great website with lots of info on these.

Your setup sounds like it going to look great, post some pics when you get it setup.

Ours are in a gravel bottom tank. They spend all their time on the bottom, not floating. They like to hide and we have caves made from rock that they are always in. I think it would stress them to have to be in a bare tank.

anyone know if they have a dealer down in los angeles, i kinda wanted one for a long time. but couldnt find one.

hello! anyone know where can i get that in singapore?

It says Ward's ships internationally, but I don't know if that includes live animals. You have to register, login, try to buy one and see if it accepts your address or you could call their costomer service.

Also like I said before I see them at LFS every once in a while, you might want ask them and see if they can order you one. This prolly the cheapest way of getting on.

First off... I should be picking up another 20gallon tomorrow with another 40gallon! Both tank used for freshwater, got a great deal on it including everything like canopy and stand! So I'm sure i'll be setting two up in a 20gallon! Going to use those flourished mud kind of gravel that Sera got to offer! And gonna plant tiny hair grass everywhere for them!
=) hopefully it turns out great! still deciding on what type of filter at the moment! But i'll let all u guys know! thanks =) might try to make a waterfall!
Thanks for everyone's help!
