Mudskipper

 • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i have a mudskipper im not quite shure about how mutch you shuld feed them but i know that thay need warm water in the 80's the tank needs to stay humid and thay like crickets frozen bloodworms

set up:high temp 84 to 86 must have a glass top they need the humidity and warm air is as if not more important as the water, ive also had them climb their way clear to the top of a 75 gallon tank with only 2" of water in it. i kept mine on playsand from home depot sloped down with about 3" of brackish water
ive kept african asian and indian mudskippers.
asian mudskippers are the easiest can be kept in groups arent super aggerssive. can be kept with other brackish fish with some success. africans are very territorial and aggerssive most imported are males and they will sometimes kill each other.
my africans eventually killed and ate every brackish fish i put in with them from sailfin mollies to brackish shark cat and even a 12" brackish moray eel.
the indian species i had only ate algea and tore the crap out of each other.
the asian and africans ate frozen bloodworns, brine shrimp, squid, cricket,.other fish and after a while even pellets and flake food.
what species did you get?

considering that a mudksipper setup will have a setup tailored to their terrestrial needs, I'd use as tankmates things like anableps and archers, space permitting.

>.< i wish i knew when the guy sold it to me he never told me what kind thay were and honistly did not know what kind thay were

Post a picture I can probably id it for you.

well i finaly got a pic of him hope this is good enufView attachment 751578

Looks like an african. how big is it? Anyway im almost positive from picture it is african. So it'll get about 6 - 8 inches needs about a 20 gallon long, bigger is better. I had 2 in a 75. Africans are real territorial I started with 5 in 75 had to move 2 to another tank because of the constant brutal fighting. 1 was actually killed in a fight. The only brackish fish that lasted very long with them were archer fish but to keep them you need at least 8” of water. And archers grow pretty large 6+ inches. I used to feed my africans fiddler and red claw crabs as treats. But mostly bloodworm, earthworms, black worms, brine brine shrimp, and large crickets
