Anybody keep them? I've seen them in person and they're pretty funny. Can anybody share experiences with keeping them? Are they easy and enjoyable? What exactly do they eat? What are their land requirements? How much do they generally cost? Are they hard to find? Could they also be compatable with moon/halloween or hermit crabs? I'd appreciate any and all info you have to offer!

i've had them before and all you need is a turtle floating log, and airstone w/ pump and a filter. they don't do a real lot. and in pa they cost around 12$. and hermit crabs are a not since thye are kinda retareded and will drown. m/b u can keep them with lungfish. i'm not sure. i kept mine with a turtle

Wouldnt expect much from the bare minimum.

Set up a "beach" with gradual sand slope leading up to land area. These guys can be interesting. I have seen them housed with the common crabs such as fiddler and red claw which thrive in the same conditions.

gradual being like a turtle log that sits 1/4" from the top of the water? not even if u get the rght one. :ROFL:could be lower with fishing weights. they are not paticular when it comes with substrate

Just out of curiosity why would you keep a brackish water fish with a turtle? Or am I just being stupid and not thinking?

Just the response i would expect from someone calling out remarks like that. You appear to be an inexperienced skipper keeper...so please dont suggest tank setups like that. Its pointless with these fish...

I'd much rather hear Tifftastic and krzr3000's remarks if you don't mind...

While I don't know a ton about them, I think there are different species of mudskippers?

A friend of mine has some. Same kinda setup Krzr3000 is talking about. Actually has a waterfall that falls down on the land part into the water as well. Without a "beach" you really can't experiance these to their full extent because one of the coolest things is when they're sitting on the beach, or when they're on the beach and they haul off into the water.

They're very cool. Brackish of course and I think most are around $10.00 a peice. He keeps two by themselves. I think he's trying to get them to hand feed eventually.

I know bogwoodbruce keeps them, posted some pics a while back.

Not my setup, but something like this is always cool.
