Wow man first this shouldn't have been moved as mullets are mostly fresh. they will not take feeders, i live down in Florida and fish a lot of Fw, they will not take anything from a hook even if its in there face, you really should release this fish, as its going to be incredibly hard to feed it. Please dont dissapoint yourself man, i dont mean to be negative but try somthing else if theres a fish not for aquariums this is one.

We must be talking about different species of fish, they are easy to raise in an aquarium, detritus in the wild but will eat left over food in a tank. Mine often ate black worms and left over micro pellets. Here is what i am talking about.

Well I usually use them as food for larger fish when they are less than 1" long but I always end up with a few that grow to several inches very quickly. They are about as hard to keep in a large tank as popcorn in a skillet. They grow fast and loose their shiny metal gleam very quickly. Not exactly the best of aquarium fish.

Exactly man, like of all the fish why this one

You got me, i just use them as fish food and fish bait, I've eaten a few of them but I didn't care for them. Too oily to fry and I usually fry my fish. I've heard they are good salted down and eaten for breakfast with eggs and grits but I've not tried it. I do eat spots, eggs and grits for breakfast, ummm ummm good! Mullet roe is good for breakfast too! Not to mention it makes a really great fish food!
