are they always that stable or did the become more stable when they hit a certain size?
TY. I'm a dat newbie. I started collecting them 4 months ago. They're very dark from the lfs but when they moved in my tank, their color became stable (most of the time).
I just got lucky. Sometimes the split-bar's color becomes unstable when bullied by my 12" ST but the three and four bar indos and my NTT's color are always stable.

Did you go back and buy the other dats from the shop? (after the last one you got?)
TY Ade. I was seriously tempted to buy some more but I stepped on my spending brakes lol. More fish=more mps to peel=less tankspace. My challenge now is to let them grow and to always keep them stable all the time. : )
