Multifasciatus Shell dwelling Cichlid tank mates?

Cyprichromis Leptosoma "Utinta" only require a 4 foot tank... Or you could go for Neolamprologus Leleupi

A group of smaller cyps will be completely fine in a 55. Either Cyp leptosoma Utinta or microleptidotus. Alternatively, albino Paracyprichromis nigripinnis would be pretty cool/colorful and not mess with the shellies either.

These are the most common selections for Tangs that will fit in a 55 and occupy the higher levels of the tank. Most other stuff that will fit in a 55 are either rock, shell or sand dwellers.

Leleupi are fine if you only have one of them. In pairs, they can be just like brichardi and take over a tank pretty quickly. They could be fine, but just a heads-up.

I've also heard larger groups of leleupi are more docile... but don't quote me on that

leleupi are great until they start breeding.. They can run a tank when that happens.

I shall fix that by only obtaining one! Or if they prefer company of their own kind I will remove babies to another location and sell them to my LFS or on line. Or I can ask for two females... if you can sex them... heh. But just getting one sounds like a plan to me... I like them better than the cyps only because they'e easier to obtain and generally cheaper. and yellow! I like taht color almost as much as I like green. Would just getting one be okay?

"They should not be kept with most shell dwellers, as they have a habit of sticking their faces in the shells to suck out the brood. They've been known to (fatally) pull female shell dwellers out of the shells to achieve this."

What do you make of this?

cylindricus will do this as well. I think that they would be fine with larger shellies, just not multis.
