Well... words are not everything until you try them out yourself. Not every two aro are the same thus it boil down to giving it a shot to find out the answer.

nice reply

Does it matter if they came from the same tank? I got one about 3 days ago and plan to introduce another one today (two silvers). The new one will be slightly smaller. I wonder if I should get it from the same store with the same batch? The other stores I know have better looking ones, but I'm more concerned about them getting along.

My silver and asian get alomg fairly well, they asian is the boss, and occassionally takes the odd side swipe at my silver, but overall they are good, one is over 20 inches and the other over 24 inches. I guess you just have to try and see.

Good luck.

i had 2 silvers living together for over a year and a half. eventually added a 3rd with no problems. my aros are all in a 400gal tank tho. nips occassionally but nothing serious. its all trial n error. everyone said "DONT DO IT" but i did it anyway because thats just how i am.

i often seen pics with blacks together but when i tried it myself, my previous 13" black arow beat the crap out of the newly introduced 15" black arow :(

i have 2 silvers together for over 2 1/2 yrs with no problem except for the first half.
they fight like crazy, serious fighting. but i manage to get them to live happily together.

How's you do it?

I managed to put two silver 10" together today and they're getting used to the tank. I may introduce a Jardini once the Silvers get established in a week or so.

It takes patience, creativity and dedication IMO. It may not work the very first time, but you have to keep trying and outsmart the fish. Yes, everyone nailed it down when it comes to ish, there are no similar characteristic.

I currently have 4 blacks and a Lei, the black are about 15" and the Lei is about 12-13".

It took me several tries of taking the aggressor out, separate him, changed the environment, leaving light on, leaving blue moonlight on and keep them well fed then try again in 1-2 weeks. But in the end, it can work and they all look gorgeous..

i am trying to have a green and a RTG together right now. They both appr. 16". i had the rtg for over 18 mons and just recently bought the green. i divided the tank and let them swim together when i have time (that mean sit and watch and get ready to use a stick or anything to seperate them once they ready to strike each other) and when i changed water. been doing that for 3 wks. Their aggressioness seem to be a bit better because they don't sniff each other as often. Still, my rtg's tail is ripped here n there. Does anyone have any method on training them not to fight and any thing to prevent the wounds from get infection and recover faster??? This is the most patient game i ever committed.
