Multiple Tank Syndrome (MTS)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Reading through this thread it's becoming increasingly more clear to me that MTS has two meanings. The obvious "Multiple Tank Syndrome" and another one which is equally befitting of some of our collections....."Most Tolerant Spouse".

Honestly, I don't know how some of you get away with it, lol.

My wife reluctantly agreed to 1 tank. I was going to do it anyway, but reluctantly consulted her about it. The agreement was that it would be the only one.
2 years later, my grandson and stepdaughter moved in with a 55 gal that was in horrible shape. I "reluctantly" took over the care of it. But I am also teaching him, so there's that.
I'm not sure how I'm going to justify the 3rd one, but I'm working on it!
MTS is definitely a plague on society. :naughty:

I once walked into a guys place and was in awe of the amount of wall to wall tanks he had. He must have had a hundred. I said to him, "man, how the hell do you do it, how do you get away with having so many tanks?" He looked at me with a beleaguered look on his face and said, "you do realise you're in a fish store my friend?" Lol.

MTS was one of the things I contracted while being on this site.. later on I was able to contract more infectious ones, some still without a name and some I will name here ( RFS- Rare fish syndrome, AA-Albino Addiction, CMA-Color morph addiction etc.)... Started off with a 40 gallon and within 3 years I had over 30k gallons on my hands. Collecting/building big tanks was the cheapest part of the hobby! hahaha

Started with this 'growout' tank 7 years ago but once I put the fish in the tank, I realized it was already too big for the tank! hahaha, got a 150 the following day and pretty much kept going for the next few years.
Even the tallest oak started out as a tiny acorn just as you.

The 55 is your stepdaughter's and your grandson wants his own tank. Yes, this is the way. *And he wants a big one*
