The softshell may not get huge depending on the species, the common Chinese Pelodicus sinensis only gets about a foot long.
In my "community" tank I've got
-Caspian Pond turtle (female)
-Mississpi Map (male)
-Malaysian Box (female)
-Diamondback terrapin (male)
-Yellow Pond turtle (?)
-Scorpion Mud turtle (female)
-Chinese Threadneck (male)
All are smaller species and with the exception of the Yellow Pond (Mauremys mutica), they're all about full grown.

Do you have a pic of the Caspian? I've been thinking about getting one but wasn't sure how it would get along with my 2 Eastern Painteds and 2 Maps(1 Mississippi and 1 I can't remember the name of at the moment)
