Hello,

I was curious if anyone has had success transferring a pair of cichlids, along with their eggs, into a different tank? A pair of my multispinosa decided to spawn the other night and I'm in the process of moving. I know... great timing! Anyway, I need to break down my 135gal aquarium that they are presently in. I had planned on moving all of my stock temporarily into a 55gal that's divided into 4 sections. If I portion off a small area for the pair, what are the chances they will continue caring for the eggs?

Thanks.

Still looking for some input...

I now have wigglers... If I move the wigglers along with the parents, will they continue to look after them? I'm planning on breaking down my 135gal today and will be moving all my stock into the divided 55gal.

Thanks.

Personally, I doubt it, they would likely eat the fry due to stress. Worth a try though? Just be ready to seperate them, incase the male gets nasty. Good luck!

Thanks Grant.

I was thinking the same thing, but like you said it's worth a shot. This is their first spawn and surely not their last...
