multispinosa

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yea Matt, your probably right.but sometimes you just have to say wtf! If I had to i could set up a 15 gal. and use water and filter media from the 180.It was definitely a gamble.

I rarely ever quarantine Crenicichla, they are definitely much hardier and sturdier than most cichlids. Rapps fish are normally in tip top shape as well, so that an added bonus. You just have to play it as it comes.

Only problem is adding Crenicichla to a tank that already has other Crenicichla in it. With how expensive multis are, I would definitely be cautious to say the least!

Looking great though from what I can see! Haha!

I will have mine tomorrow. Its my christmas present to myself. I'm super excited about having this fish. I'll try to post pics once I get them in their tank. Hey Jeremy what kind of diet would you put these guys on? I was thinking of frozen Krill, Bloodworm?, NLS sinking pellets to start with? Any suggestions?

I wish I the pics were clearer :( I'm sure its a stunner though

For some reason my pikes LOVE Hikari Massivore. The smaller carnivore pellets might work better though since they are smaller. Multis have 'smaller' mouths, so plan accordingly when it comes to foods. Frozen krill, frozen mysis, and slightly larger NLS pellets should be perfect. Not sure how quickly they will take to the pellets though. Your guess is about as good as mine one that one.

Definitely post pictures when you get them!!! A couple of your Paraneetroplus would be awesome too! ;)

I will post some pics when I get them settled. My Paratroplus tank is doing VERY well right now. So much activity its crazy. The multi's are going in a 90 gallon tank with a Rotkeil Severum and a pair Geayi. Its one tank that has a really good filtration system so I think this tank will work best for the multi's but probably only for a few months or so.

here is a shot of the atabapo2,ant guess on sex?

No idea, have to look at the dorsal for that. I'm pretty sure that females of this species get a black blotch in the dorsal. Its very noticeable if they have it. I have two currently and both are looking like females. It didn't fully start showing up till about 8 or 9" though.

I think my atabapo2 is female i can sometimes see a black line on its dorsal.my multui is definitely a male .I like the males they get more spangles with some red ,not as much red as the females.it was a hard choice.
