Fry survive in my 55 African tank just fine. Same with the africans in my pond. So don't worry - some fry should survive 
I wonder if the number is causing a slow in breeding. I mean that is a lot of different types in one area... maybe they are confused! lol
i have about 40-5o malawi's in my tank and only 2 of them will actually breed and lucky for me they are my rare ones
Thanks for all the info! It's been four days now and I still see a few hiding in the rocks.. I'll post Pic's of my setup soon, waiting for my Java fern to get a little bigger!
