My 2 year old son LOVES the family fish! He tries too hard to be involved in taking care of the tanks. I let him dump the pellets in for our piranha. I've been teaching him caution, and to keep his hands way above the water. I tell him that she bites (better safe than sorry). He enjoys watching her eat while he's laying in bed. I love being able to share my hobby and my passion with my son. Does anyone else have a little munckin fish keeper?

My son turns 2 on the 21st. He always says "Fishy, awww, they're cute!" He helps out by stirring the Prime in the buckets during every water change. :D

Back when I nannied, I'd take the toddler girl to Petsmart every week and we'd go over fish. This is a cichlid, this is a betta, etc. When it came time for 'what does this animal say,' like, what does a cow say? MOO, I got her hooked on 'what does a catfish say?" She would try to snap her fingers and say "Click click click!" imitating corys or doradids. Sadly preschool took all the fish knowledge away.

My son recognizes the fish store we frequently shop at, down to the roads leading up to it. Whenever we go to Wal-Mart, he likes to stop and see the fish. His version of what the fish says is opening and closing his mouth, and a flailing attempt at signing the word "fish"! It's too sweet. I would let him feed his guppies instead of the piranha, but it's so much harder to overdose huge pellets than it is little bitty flakes. : / lol I'm so glad to hear about everyone else's Munchkin Fish Keepers! ^_^

Like the hubby said our daughters love fish. But i dont let them hand feed fish cause our gar bites first and asks questions later. My 8 year old has bred quite a few fish too. And is now hoarding bettas like momma hoards cichlids.

I don't have any munchkins of my own, but I'm a school bus aide and the kids on my bus love looking at photos of my fish on my laptop! They know each one by name (common and personal). My mom would be the one I am training in, lol. I let her feed the fish today while I was at church (drawing my fish for the kids there, lol) and I came home to the cutest feeding story ever! Moms are cute too people!! :P

I have an 11 year old daughter and 2 boys that are 5 and 6. All my kids love watching and helping with water changes and always want to feed. My daughter is the one who got me back into fishkeeping and is crazy about fish. Having Munchkin Fishkeepers is great!

My little man isnt a munchkin keeper yet but he sure is getting there. Hes going to be 3 months next week and loves to watch our fish . He gets upset when I move him and he cant see the fish. Im looking forward to teaching him everything I know and passing on the legacy of fish keeping.

Well my sons only 4 months old but mommy said I can setup a small tank in his room for when he's old enough to enjoy them. Nothing crazy, maybe a small 20gal planted community tank with a bunch of fan tail guppys or something.
