Im getting a hairy mushroom tomorrow would post some pics but cant find my camera. Its a real big one it cost 65 dollars is this reasnoble for a large hairy mushroom ive got 160 watts of light thats 3 watts per gallon.Im adding purple up to the water is this the only supplement i need. This will be my first coral.I read that you have to feed them.Could i feed it cocktail shrimp from the groeceary store.

purple up is to help with coraline growth. its not a proper calcium additive.

b-ionic 2 part calcium seems to work the best from what i hear.

just watch your levels and do frequent water changes and you should be alright. but since you've only the 1 coral it shouldn't be a problem.

As far as the lighting goes. I had green, orange and purple mushrooms, button polyps, green star polyps, with 4 40 watt t12/t8's. Regular shop light set up with 2 atinic bulbs, an 18k and a 20k. I did not switch to t5's until I added the LPS coral. And I still only have two 48" t5's and my atinics are still t12's. All corals are growing and looking great. Now nothing grew as fast as they do now but they still grew and nothing died.

I got the mushrooms this morning its got about 6 small ones on a rock covered in coralline. When i first put it in there he started biting the rock and then i left and he had biitten one chunk out of two of them but now it seems hes hiding under a rock and left it alone.Mabey he will forget about it.These are green hairy mushrooms.
