You noticed a Con is not that suitable. hihi
Issnt a 2217 with its 1000 litres an hour a bit much?

Yep, no more cons for this setup. Good lord.

I think the 2217 will be just about right. I have one on my con's 50g breeder and this is about the same volume of water. With a spraybar, it has a gentle flow but still agitates the water surface enough to keep it from looking stagnant. I also bought one of those spraybars that is sectioned so you can direct each section in whatever direction you want. This disperses the water flow more evenly too.

Of course, a spray bar.
I always narrow the outflow and therefore I thought it would make your tank a white water course. hihi
You know what youre doing and as said before; like the hobby should be performed.
Nice nice nice.
:D

Wow that turtle is super duper cute!

Thanks everyone. :)

I got the Eheim 2217 installed today, it's working great.

Thinking about adding some large river rock if I can find it, also thinking about maybe a pair or trio of rainbow cichlids since they say pretty small and are much less aggro than a convict (which FAILED).

This is utterly amazing. He has to be one of the happiest turtles I've ever seen! I love the sand, my Razorback Musk loves to dig in the sand and half bury himself next to my driftwood.

Wow, thanks. That's a very nice thing of you to say! I love sand too, it's so much fun to watch them dig and bury themselves. Mine also kicks it up onto his shell and then scratches it on the driftwood. It's hilarious.
