Musk turtles

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just asked the guy that I got the turtle from. He is one of my uncles friends and had hatched it like 2 days before I got it so that might have been the reason it was killed by my extremely aggressive crowntail

Dont mix Turtles and fish.

I think that should be stamped on the shell of every Turtle sold in pet stores.

Oh btw one of the above posted replies is true how it all depends on the turtles personality as I have two male red eared sliders which won't hurt or kill anything unless it's a goldfish, pellet, or rosy red. but on the other hand my female pastel red eared slider will even go after my jack dempseys which as most know are one of the fastest fish ever! (not really just almost impossible to catch) and the female will bite hands fingers toes large fish probably even a smaller turtle. The only reason all the turtles are still alive is because they are similar or exact same size. But just watch his personality and from what I've seen any turtle that swims to the glass when you feed them (my males) or when you are near are commonly very friendly while the turtles that hide (my female) are commonly vicious or aggressive but once again GOOD LUCK! Sorry for posting so much I keep forgetting something then remembering after I post it! 

I ended up putting him in his own 30 gallon tank cause I didn't want to tank a chance on him biting one of my fish or my fish killing him well thanks for all the comments and the help

No problem good luck with the musk. You should get a pair and breed them they are really fun to breed and watch their dances for breeding

I would not add the musk to your tank so fast. Hatchling musk are terrible swimmers I would add him about 2.5-3" in SCL otherwise your hatchling would drown. When they become bigger they are much better swimmers. I have 7 musk ranging from 1.5" to 5" you dont want to kill it. Id wait till then, probably at about a year or so you could. Unless for some odd reason your turtle has a huge growth spurt in its first year.
