Hardy Water lillies will do fine, but will go dormant for the winter. Several species of Lotus are hardy, but they can spread and choke out a small pond in no time. They too will go dormant in the Fall/Winter season, but will come back as soon as water temps. increase.
I ran into a serious problem recently. I recently bought 2 more Koi and they came with super algea water. The seller told me to just add the water into my pond. I did that and my water instantly turn a a few shade greener. It's been a week, and now i can't even see pass 2 inches of water. It's pretty much a dark green, almost black.
I would like to do a water change. But i'm not sure where to keep my koi. I saw some post under indoor ponds, and see that some members are using kiddie pool as ponds. Can i keep 13 kois (9 - 14 inches) in a 36x36x7 inch kiddie pond for 2-3 days?
