just try what ever you want. you could draw what you want or just do what i do and move stuff about until you get a look you like.

all i meant was maby make the wood a focal point then build around it

The tank looks ok, its just that the plant on the left, Hygrophila polysperma, is very fast growing and should be pruned every week or two to about 3/4 the height of the tank, then it will bush out and get a nice domed look to it. Mulch the rest, it is an invasive weed if it gets in a pond (climate permitting), or feed it to fish like silver dollars. If you get tired of it there are other species of Hygrophila that do not grow as fast, but they have a totally differnt look. Would not destoy all of though, as sale of it is banned now in some (maybe all) states and you might not get it back.

Also you might want to keep the tank topped off with water above the plastic rim since the tank is not quite level, this will make an unlevel tank more attractive.
