woah i read the first page until this page and man this was awesome! a truly fish lover! so jealous of you!
The filtration has exceeded my expectations, even though it's not quite finalized yet. The water is crystal clear except for an hour or so after feeding a few handfuls of Massivore pellets. I expect the dual tube UV sterilizer Kendragon spec'd for me has a lot to do with that. Maintenance is a breeze compared to a sump as well. I have never touched the media on this tank. So far, I've just back flushed the glass bead filter and done some additional water changes. It really doesn't get any easier.
I just read this front to back. My gf, sitting on the couch next to me, asked me why I'm smiling so much. When I explained the project and showed her the pictures she compared my love of fish to her love of ballet. "I don't get the fascination." When I read some of the comments from others in this thread she said, "WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE."

Yes please!! Tank looks great, ihough it took me a couple of minutes to find the aro. I feel like I need a wider tank now....
A magnificent project Sir. I really like the side view of the tank. Totally different perspective vs. the front view. It seems like the fish are up close and personal there.
