Thought some of you would like to see this. The tigerfish is shedding it's teeth. I actually saw one fall infront of me and tried to retrieve it , but with white sand it's like searching for a needle in a haystack. Hopefully when it gets bigger.
I didn’t know tiger fish did this. I guess sharks do it & rays shedding their barb. I’d just never thought of a fish shedding teeth. That’s super cool you got to witness it mate
Actually they shed their teeth rather often. Around once a month/ every few weeks. Then they swim around for a day or so with no teeth. its really funny to see! I have a bucket of sand sitting next to the tank and im convinced the tooth is in there. If i ever find some i will make some kind of jewelry with the teeth
How is the red tail Payara doing? I had one & really loved the fish, they grow so slow but they are so cool. One of my favorites along with your tiger!
I will have to catch that next time! There is only a small window of 12-24hrs where there are no teeth in the jaw. As you mentioned, like sharks they have the next tooth already lined up. He/She has a brand new smile today
