My 1000gal Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Winter is apparently over and our Peacok bass went through it without too much casualities.

We had death mostly on fingerlings in concrete pond.
We had temperature down to 17 c.

A juvenile that was all black and blind ( we named him Zatoichi) has disapeared we do believe it s a heron that ate him.

That is totally Psychotic. Hey if you need any testing stuff please let us know and we will see what we can do. I travel that way alll the time and would be interested in seeing your set up. Things are much easier to come by here. Keep us posted and keep sending the pics.

150 peas in Concrete tank:

4 days ago we put in tank some live shrimps to make the conversion from artemias to shrimps.

3 days ago we did water change.

Had 2 deads 2 days ago , I opened and look into their stomac and found small shrimps that i haven t being digested. One fish had the stomac broken already.

We stop giving shrimps

2 deads today, nothing in stomac, no trace of ich, water between 22c to 17 c.

Any idea please ???

50 peacocks in mud pond are doing great and sunbath everyday, they are feeding on Gambusias, tilapias, glass shrimps, siamese fighting fish and shrimps.
They rush on small frogs with success and big frogs as well (quite fun to look at as they can t eat them yet) .

You cheeky fella, how much did you pay for the batch of Orinocensis? Source? PM me if need be.

Good to see you heed my advice to go for mud pond. :)

Dear Channarox , Rio and others,,

Thank you for your support and advices.

Well Rio, how do you know if the batch is Orinocensis or Monoculus?

We ll make the tour of aquarium fish sellers/farmers and we will find the way to export to your home country the beauties you find.

If I tell the price/source we bought our fish I may raise some enemies around here.

PM me to negotiate, i m very reasonable. ;)

hey, those look like cool colombians orino like those Dmack ones. But you will want to becareful not to let them cross with mono. another 3 months you will need to split them up if they are mixed otherwise you lost the blood line. How about Tem? you want to trade? :D:D

Hi,
We released in another mud pond the batch we bought a inch and a half in December the 20th.

After a heavy rain fall by night we had an electricity cut all day long.I thought the the battery pumps wouldn t be powerfull enough to support 150 peas.

So by 17h00 I decided to release them in one of our mud ponds, we counted them, didn t vent them :(.

We counted 108 fish of approx. four inches

A storm started as soon as we pour the last bucket of fish in the pond , It was also very dark ....

Was worrying about oxygen depletion, pH differences (from pond to pond to heavyrain)

Electricity came back at 20h00 :chillpill:

Didn t see the peas for 2 days, but now they are doing fine and still in school.

:)
