Fair enough, since you have this experiance....when I add my new Guianacaras with my Severums and Blood Parrots to my new 120 gal, what would be your advice?

Well they are all american...including the parrot fishes origin. How many of each were you planing on putting in and what size will they all be? Also what variety of Guianacaras are you purchasing? Is this an established tank or is it brand new? Are the parrot fish the hybrid variety or are they hoplarchus psittacus?
Sorry for the late response.....there are 9...... 4 are atleast 2 inch the rest are smaller. Only the 2 severums will get huge, the rest will only get 6in maybe 2 other will get 8. The tank is new but was heavily seeded. Nitrates reading 5ppm with the rest at 0 with ammonia slightly raising 1-2 times per week. Yees they are the hybrids!

Sounds good...personally I think you'll be just fine for long term success. The parrots can get a little pushy but there will be lots of time for these fish to establish themselves as they grow. Nitrates look good and these guys can definitely handle a much higher count if you ever get neglectful (we all do lol). Good luck...and I notice you're from Chicago...I was there this weekend...such a beautiful city
