My 125 tank dilemma

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Those are good water parameters for Centrals.
Any of those combinations of species may work. But.... sajica get fairly large, and territorial, when I kept them as adults, I could only keep 1 pair of that species per tank, the alpha pair always put too much pressure on a subordinate pair, or other similar pan type cichlids by the time they hit the size of a soccer ball.

Nicaraguans may be a better choice to try and keep with Oscura. being very different in appearance.

So...
6 Rainbow cichlids
1 Oscura
2-3 Macaws???

Phase 1 has begun, LOL. I moved the Rainbow Cichlids to the 125 today. After I moved them I realized I took them out of an 80 degree tank & plopped them in a 77 degree tank. Forgot to turn their heater down last night. They don't seem to be phased at all and are rocking and rolling in the big tank.
Phase 2 will be 2 re-home the balzanii girls. I'd be happy to give them away just want them to have a good home. They will be missed but I believe this tank will be pretty nice when it comes to completion.
