You'll probably have better luck with plant nurseries or pond supply places. A very small percentage of aquarists keep large floating plants, so it's not common in your average pet stores, even the mom'n'pop places.

Another plant I have had success with in with turtles are anubius. They can be rooted on driftwood or a rock and they tend to leave them alone. Nice terrapins and tank. only eye sore for me is the tub, but since yours are breeding you need that extra sand for her to lay the eggs.
 
I know tell me about it I sit there every day and I look at that tub........ gotta be something better. Thanks ill try to find some. No luck finding any aqua plants.... so far

Freshwater plants are wonderful for turtles; wonderful to eat! Yes, they look beautiful in turtle tanks, but turtles will eat them down to the stem. Plant fiber in a turtles diet is actually a good thing; but if you get plants, don't expect them to last.
