Amazing! One day when I get a basement or garage I am going to do the same!

Awesome tank! I am considering a large build myself and since I have a lot of experience in concrete it will definitely be my medium of choice. The only problem is the permanence. If I ever move I guess the tank would have to be torn down. Thanks

Well, that tears it. Now I know how I'm gonna build my next, bigger tank after the 510.

Well done!

Incredible.

This is totally the route that I'm going for my next build.

How did you attach the block to the floor?

Did you pour a foundation for the tank or just go directly onto the floor?

Did you rebar the walls? If so, did you run the rebar into the foundation?

Why didn't you go lower with the window?

Sorry to be a PITA lol

No you're just fine. We layed mortar mix right on the floor and place out first coarse on it. That's it.

I did use rebar. We used a concrete bit to drill into the floor and pushed the bar into the holes. 3 on the sides, one about 18" over close to the window. We also ran bar all the way along the second coarse.

I already had the window as I had planned on building a pond liner tank and it just didn't pan out. But with concrete, it is so cheap to add volume I just super sized the tank. Also where it goes straight down to the floor I didn't want the window to be down at foot level. Kids and tanks already can be stressful!

This is just awesome! Kills me that I cant do one of these myself. One of the downsides to living in Florida. No basements:irked:

Im jealous lol. love it. I would definitely build another if I were you.
