Hey guys here is a quick video of my 12x4x4 mixed Central and South American community. It centers around my 17.5" male Rio Mag male umbee and his 14" girl friend. I added two Pearsi, 3 trimacs, a datnoid, and 2 synsipilum on day one and let them settle for a day before adding the umbee pair. He immediately went into attack mode and relentlessly chased the other fish. Upon seeing this I decided my best route was to add some more fish to the mix to spread the aggression and over the next two days he mellowed to the point were he basically could care less what's in there with him now. I never lost any inhabitants during this time and other than some split fins and very minor scrapes, no real damage was done. I will add and remove stock as I see fit and as long as it works I will continue to have this set up as a community tank.
Inhabitants include:
17.5" male rio mag male
14" rio mag female
6 trimacs ranging from 6-9.5".
3 barred Midas 2 males at 7" one female at 6".
1 9" midevil
1 14" orino peacock bass
2 Pearsi 10.5 and 12"
1 8" datnoid
1 male Gorrilus blue umbee 11.5"
1 Gorrilus black umbee 8.5"
I sailfin and 1 common Pleco
10-15 crayfish. Great cleaners and don't bother the fish and the occasional fish snack, I've already lost one
hope you enjoy and stay tuned there is also a thread up on the build itself as well.
