The aquascaping looks great except for the flowerpot, I'm not a fan, but some people are cuz I see them a lot in aqauriums. How are the Discus and Angelfish getting along in there?

The flower pot was for breeding purposes since the albino oscar and the female gold sev are breeding but they chose the other side of the tank and the flower pot will be removed.

am i understanding you correctly..... your oscar is trying to breed w/ your Sev?? is that possible.......have they done this b4, ever produce fry?

I bet those discus are stressed out!!! i had a Texas and she was a mean one. more pics of your fish man close ups!!

The texas is nice. How big?

My female sev ALWAYS tryed to breed with other species in my tank. First was with my male EBJD, and after he passed away, she tryed to breed with the oscars. She layed eggs twice, but the oscar didnt fertilize them. I hope they get it right this time.

The texas is about 7"...The discus are NOT stressed out . Actually, they ate in their first day in the tank...Nobody cares about them...They are the ones who pick fights with the angels...and they win...I know my fish. I wouldn't allow a fish get stressed to death.

nice tank! are those silk plants floating? and an anubias in the center behind the texas? what kind of filtration? how long have the discus been in with the texas?

not saying you don't know what you're doing but generally you wouldn't keep discus w/ a texas.......i think most on this forum would agree, but all fish have diff personalities, and if it works great!! does the oscar even try to fertilize the eggs or does he ignore them? i used terra cota pot to breed my fire mouths and GT's. made a good place for the fry to start out in.....i had a 90gal that had several other cichlids........but allas most of them became food for everyone else. good luck w/ the community dude. hows bout some pics of the other fish

Most people tend to repeat things and never try anything on their own...I think I am an experienced fish keeper and i know what Im doing. Thanks for the comments, by the way.
The discus have been there for 4 months now...It more likely that i would have a problem if i introduce other type of fish like a gt or jack dempsey. A schoaling fish like the angels and discus are totally ignored. Their round shape and calm swimming style helps too. I introduced a 7" wild geophagus last month and he got screwed.

I'll say it, you don't know what you are doing. You will not have long term success keeping discus with oscars and texas cichlids. You can claim that they do fine all you want but the simple fact is the discus are not going to thrive with other large agressive fish or the waste that the large fish put out.

It's your tank, keep what you want. I don't have a problem with that. But dicuss should live 7-10 years. If you cannot do that in your tank then you are not successfully keeping them nor do you know your fish. They might live 4months, they might live 2 years, but they will not reach full potential.

Although I do think your tank looks awesome! Please post some closeup pics of the discus.
