My 150g project.... Small resealing and custom stand.

Alright, it has been awhile since I have done an update. I will be taking video of the tank soon to show the progress. I have it fully setup and running, landscaping is pretty much done and fish are in. They are already breeding like crazy, my yellow labs are having babies left and right. My kenyi's are starting to go at it and my jewels are still growing up to know what sex they are.

I am a bit worried about one of my loaches, I got 4 from petco awhile back, they all got ick, I got 3 to pull out (lost one) but now that they are growing, the one is staying small. Any ideas on what I might be able to do to help pull him out and grow? I am giving as much good food as I can to give him what he needs, but the other ones are just growing out and he is still about 1.5" and the others are pushing 4" now.

Also, I still just have a basic lighting setup while I decide what lighting to go with. I was going to go with a led flood light but now I am considering 2 48" 4 bulb T5 fixtures (216w each). Is that going to be to much?

I have just a basic lighting setup, as I am still not sure if I should go with an LED or T5 setup.

The blank background is an eyesore, I know. Should have the tank back blacked out (or something) soon.

Am not sure how I want to finish the stand. Was thinking of some nice black curtain like stuff to attach to the stand, would look great and allow easy access under the stand.

My DIY sump filter is working wonderful. Finally found a good price on 7 gallons of bio balls and have 25lbs of crushed coral as more bio/PH buffer. Been keeping the water nice and clean!

All breeds (red jewels, electric yellow labs & kenyi's) are actively breeding. Since I shot this video, have had at least 3 more kenyi's & 200+ red jewel fry show up.
It's going great, will post another video when more progress/events happen.

Well... After putting it off I finally found a killer deal on some lights! For $40 I got 2 48" 2-bulb T5 fixtures. So, with the use of my current 18K T8 bulbs & these T5 units, it will finally be how I want it. I am in the process of figuring out how to mount them, might hang them but anyways.

Another update: I picked up awhile back a used Rio 3100+ pump for my sump return. I needed a new impeller but worked. However I am considering going with dual overflows and getting a new 1200GPH pump, as a new impeller for the RIO is more than I PAID for it. So, with that I think my filter setup will be running at it's maximum potential.

I am looking a bigger tank, maybe in the 400-600+ gallon range. Getting tired of doing water changes on my 5 tanks now. Want to consolidate. Was thinking of making this 150 the sump for it once I make that upgrade but I will have to wait till after we move.

I think I have really caught the MONSTER BUG!
