I knew it! I want to get a pool and stock it with fish and go snorkeling, but my wife keeps fighting me on it.
 
Did you build it for the koi or was is an old pool converted? Do you use a bottom drain?

The two reasons I only snorkel in it once a year. 1.There is a lot of bacteria in any fish pond or tank so it can make you sick. 2.The koi are not happy about it.

I know it looks like all thats missing is a diving board but I did build it as a koi pond.It has two bottom drains on seperate 4" pipes feeding the vortex settlement chamber.They are getting the job done but three drains to three separate vortexes would have been better.
 
I really admire your pond, it is virtually identical to the one I think of getting when I watch Cribs :P

Going to Japan for fish - that's dedication :D
