My 1750L tank build.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks like the start to a really cool build.
I also really like your backyard.
Looks like a beautiful and quite peaceful area.

Those pics were actually at my parents house, it is a nice peaceful place and I consider myself lucky to have grown up there, surrounded by orchards and forest. I don't have much of a back yard as we're tucked away in the trees, but you're right it is very peaceful! (glad to have escaped the big city and returned home)

Nothing new to report, haven't heard back from the tank maker about the glass or the company supplying the stand. Going to start chasing them up on Monday! In the mean time, I've sold 5 of my 8 L14 and picked up two more royals, glad to have got my hands on this nice one;

need to hurry up with this build, the 400L tank is getting rather crowded!

Nice pick up great looking royal

I was thinking about updating this the other day, guess I have to now!!

Turns out the local guy is struggling to get thick glass and it is very expensive, so I've been discussing it with a guy in Auckland (our main city, a couple of hours from where I am) and he has been able to source a few sheets of 15mm 'offcuts' for a good price, so once he confirms the dimensions of the sheets I'll confirm the dimensions of the tank and we'll go from there. At the moment its looking likely that I'll be going with a 2400x1200 footprint and 700 high, so the volume will be more like 2000L gross. I might be able to stretch it to 2500 long, all depends on the glass though.

Other than that the only other progress has been the big stump sinking after spending some time in the sun drying and hardening, I was surprised at how quickly it sunk and it makes me wonder if I should have left it to dry for longer.
