Sounds like you are really liking the thought of having a african chiclid tank, and if so I say go for it! I love mine!!! I have decided on sticking with chiclids that come from the malawi lake only. They are alot of fun to watch and take care of.

I say you go with what ever you really like. My lfs allows me to trade all the time, so if I decide something don't fit he either gives me store credit or does a trade, so the most I am out is a couple bucks.

It was cycled, and i did stock it. I posted pics of the fish that were in it

Anyways, the fish came down with fin rot and most of the fish died

On Friday, i took out the remaining fish to try another treatment since the last one i tried didnt work. The plants died from the meds and i had to mess up the rock piles to get the fish out so now it looks like crap

Sorry to hear about your fish. Don't get discouraged! The tank looked great and the set up is fantastic!
