I was inspired by a youtube video of a geophagus tank.
It had sand, driftwood and some javafern, but he only had plants and roots on one side, while i have both.

But in terms of planting the plants, they are all tied down with fishingline around small flatt stones.
I've read that if the rizom of the plant is beneath the sand, the plant slowly rots.

And the driftwood centerpiece, is actually made together by several pieces.
8-9 driftwood pieces in total.
 
Not the best picture but this is a cherry shrimp that I added right before the fish, I didn't think it would make it. But it has grown and fish just isn't fast enough to catch it.

I saw this go from one side of the tank to the other in a flash, it looked like a red line in my tank for a millisecond.
I couldn't believe it.
