My 190 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No I have giant danios but I've seen barilius bleekeri and another one I forgot it's name, at my lfs and dam they were hot. If I were you I'd also add a pair of crenicichla notophthalmus. Not really a fan of cichlids, but pikes are like a cross of cichlid and oddball. They're pretty dope with a unique body shape and swimming style. Discus origins has a pair for like 50 bucks too. Just don't know how well they'll do with your current stock, worried a bit about the rummy noses but if you have those angel with em I think it'll be ok. Never tried a planted tank before, gotta try one, yours looks so nice except I don't even wanna know how much all the plants and everything costed lol

I was overwhelmed with the care needed for a decent planted tank based on internet searches.
Co2 this and light that and so on, but I went for the hardiest and easiest plants you can get. Luckily they look good IMO, but not cheap where I live, I wouldn't be able to afford this if I didn't work at a pet store.

The tank and fx6 was given to me by my boss, factory new!

Only problem is my boss want me to replicate this tank outside his store, and I'm not sure if I can do it.
I have 8 hours of light, he has 12 hours of light and BBA is pretty much guaranteed, so I'm going to add some SAE to that tank.

But my boss has 6 of the most beautiful angels, called redbacks.

I'm thinking of adding some emperor tetras.

Or something else, i dont want to over crowd the tank, but i'm considering adding some colorfull fish or something odd..like a half-beak.

Would love to get hold of south american puffer, I heard it can be kept in a community tank, but i think the whole snail feeding thing can be more of a hassle then joy.

Emperor tetras are stunning, they can get a bit rowdy though if not kept in proper M:F ratio. I realize they are probably not the color you're looking for but can't help to mention them..diamond tetras. So sparkly! :D
Hatchetfish are another but again probably not quite colorful enough. I can't wait to see what you do, really love this tank ^^.

Ok..

I've ordered some redbreast acara, how many I end up with we'll see.

But I'm thinking 2-3.

I have 10 angels, but they will be reduced to 5-6 over time, just think they will grow better to decent size when they are many.

And i'm adding a Red Lizard Catfish (Rineloricaria sp)

I might..add some emperor tetra's, i've order some for the store, so i'll see if they fit my tank.
Being that they are a tetra, i would need to have a small group at least, and I think that would then cause my tank to look a bit crowded.

But we'll see...

I'm getting the cichlids and the Rineloricaria.

I just cancelled emperor tetras, and added diamond tetras instead!

I think you are onto something with their silvery color!

I also have a plan if i need to remove tetras from my tank and add another type of tetra, and that is to borrow the hujeta gars from work!

They are awsome!

We also have some colombian tetras at work, i used to have a shoal many years ago.
They are nice, and reminds me of pirahna.

I'm glad you like them! I imagine as juveniles they won't be as pretty but once they get bigger and settle in..beautiful! Looking forward to seeing the acaras and red lizard catfish. :)

I'll post pictures of them on thursday night or friday.
Thanks for the advice, I have to go home after work today and picture the tank with more fish, see if it's doable.

I think it is. The acaras i belive will look nice once they get used to the tank, and they are plant friendly and dont get big. I just hope they wont bother my apistogrammas or bolivians.

I'm adding some more stones and anubias nana today. I'll try to close the gap between the two ''islands''

Reason being is that most of the fish poops lands right in the middle there, and i think these will capture the poop, so it wont be visible, but still easy to siphon out during water changes.

I'll post pictures in 2-3 hours.
