Ok, now I'm getting a little annoyed....

The BBA is growing, I'm getting a phosphate test kit in a week to see what's up..
Until then, I'm going to do a water change of 30-40% every 3 days for 2 weeks.
Scrape the glass (tiny amounts of algae)
Reduce feeding to once every other day.
Lights are now reduced with 2 hours until I get this settled.

Also I need to be better at vacuuming the tank, there is probably a ton of fish crap in between the plants, stones and driftwood.
Don't want to move things around, but I'll find a way to get at least what I can.

I'm giving the plants the correct amount of dosage of nutrition, and there is no ammonia nor no2 and no3 is just right.
So according to a fellow aquarium keeper, she says i should look out for phosphate levels.
I know nothing of this, other then a quick google search just now, and according to that mountain of research phosphates builds up in the tank due to fish waste, food and dead plants.

I'm not even sure if that is why I'm getting this algae, but I can't think of anything else.
Test kit for phosphate will arrive in a week, but all those actions I've mentioned above, certainly can't hurt, or will it?

i just hope I'll get this thing under control, if the BBA takes over, I'm just going to go non planted predator tank, but I really want to make this tank work, I love it the way it is, and it's only the BBA that's ruining my tank.
If I knew if the amount of BBA that's currently there was all there was, then fine, I can live with that, but from past experience that algae will just spread out and take over everything.

The Siamese algae eating fish, are showing no interest in that, so hopefully feeding my fishes every other day in moderate amounts will encourage them to eat it up, but I want to get to the root of the problem and make sure it doesn't grow and don't return.

It was post #165 that didn't show pictures for me. It could just be me though.

That hatchets are looking great! I'm sorry about the BBA. Don't give up too quickly as apparently it can be a long battle..but I'm sure you can do it. :)

Major update in the works!

Tomorrow I'm trading most of my fish with the store I work at.

Meaning whatever I can catch without ruining my plants will be removed tomorrow.

I'm going to get some oddballs instead.

Bichirs, knife fish and hujeta gars.
And various others, I fully know what size they get and currently the largest are the gars at 4 inch.

Will get some rope fish and other eels in a week or two.

When they get too big i already know people who have tanks that can house them, so I'm good on that front.

I just flipped out when I saw the bichir and knife fish at my work yesterday, and I just must have them, end of story.

Thanks, turn the lights off for today, will post more photos then.

But can't see it anywhere, probably hiding.

Will start offering them food in a day or two.
