My 2 Oscars and my tank update

Hi all,
Please give me some ideas
I have 2 Oscars growth about 20cm now since baby
Can you tell me are they difference Oscars
When I bought them together as called red tiger Oscars . But they look so difference now.
I think LFS something wrong right ?? Please ID for me correctly
Now they live with a green terror and a firemouth nicely without any aggression
Will that be a good idea for long terms
Just worry the green terror will attack them when terror grow bigger ,now is about 10-12cm now tank size is 120gal

Red and Red Tiger . Possibly Red Tiger with another colored Oscar.

The word different may mean different things to different people.
All the color forms of oscars, are line-bred from the aquarium strain of Astronauts occelatus that date back decades, (I had my first oscars in the 1950s, and even back then, there were different color forms, and fin types) and because of this man induced selection, there are many variations of the color forms, that could come from different or even the same spawns, just as in guppies, angelfish, and even goldfish.
They are not different species, they are varying color forms of the same species

As for long term, I think you’ll need to upgrade the tank or separate the fish even if they continue to get along. That is a lot of fish for a 120 even as it sits right now.

Your cichlids are beautiful though. Lovely oscars and terror.

Still a bit heavy, 2 Oscars in a 120 is about maxed out alone, plus the GT can get 12" as well. Not the end of the world, if they get along and you are willing to do 2 water changes per week, it might be okay. But if you can remove the green terror I think that would be better.

Should work out, I expect the g.t will be the tank boss.

The white one is an albino tiger Oscar. Technically they're leucistic rather than truly albino because they have color, but that's the trade name for them. The other is what's sold as a red Oscar.

As duanes pointed out, same species but different color morphs.

You’re a bit overcrowded for that tank. Also I would get rid of the loaches before the oscars get too big. They’ve got barbs on their heads that if eaten will kill the Oscar. If you leave the 4 cichlids like you said it could work. You clearly keep your tank in great condition so it’s possible to keep good water quality. You would have a pretty heafty bioload so maintenance would be key though. There could be aggression issues but you never know with South American cichlids. I’d give it a shot. Worse case, you rehome the GT.

Good point about the clown loaches. I caught my juvie albino tiger Oscar with a tail sticking out of her mouth and was able to catch her and shake one loose before she could swallow it.

Their mouths open wider than you think they should. We figured the loaches were safe. Not.
