I have a 2 year old silver arowana, she's about 14 inches, & is in a 49 gallon tank. I had her in with a cichlid, and a buttikofri cichlid who is VERY agreesive. They have been in the same tank together for over a year, but the buttikofri bullies my arowana. Now, the arowana is floating, face down in the rocks, hardly breathing. I changed my filter cartriges, and tried to feed her, but she seems to be the same. I know the buttikofri stressed her out, so my boyfriend got rid of it, but is there anything we can do? Or is it too late?

Oh I wonder what the problem is.... Maybe that its wayyyy to big for that tank and its become so cramped its dieing? that arow should be 2 feet by now

Btw your butti is next to die if you keep it in such a cramped tank *shun*

I had a simalar thing 2 weeks ago.
My Male green severum did the same thing. (over about 4 weeks)
He was slowly doing it more and more.
Hed be doing that but next time I looked he was fine. (over approx 2 weeks) Then we moved house and he was doing it again.
I thought it was part of the spawning that the pair looked like they were doing, and that he was cleaning or checking out the rock !!!! Oh how wrong was I !!!
Then he lost all balance and died.
Was thinking it was a bladder problem or the move but now in Hynsight but maybe it was cramped?
He was in a 300ltr tank with another severum similar size approx 20cm (7-8") with a Pleco approx 27cm (10").
