Adopted this guy a few months ago, got him for free the guy had been trying to sell it for a while. Was in a 4x2x2 with toxic parameters everything off the scale, ph 5. Had lateral line erosion and a few lumps on the operculum. Had been fed only goldfish and mealworms for 4 years. Took a drum and brought the water home and acclimated him back to normal parameters. Treating the lateral line erosion with metrodine.
Refuses to eat pellets I have been feeding him better feeders boosted with vitamin supplement and a variety of live food. You can see he is an odd colour dont know if this from the diet and parameters. He is happy and active and a typical Jar despite his issues. Sorry about the pics not a very good photographer and no lighting on tank.

The colour is not odd. Just that your's is a see through tank and the background and sand are of lighter colour and thus it try to blend into it. Want darker colour, try dark sand and black backgrounds with lights on.;)
