The colour is not odd. Just that your's is a see through tank and the background and sand are of lighter colour and thus it try to blend into it. Want darker colour, try dark sand and black backgrounds with lights on.;)
Thanks for the tip . He likes to look out the window though and is intrigued by the spider in the blinds.

That's a fatty.....

Big Fatty!!!

Yup that is a fat deep bodied Jardini.

Heres an update on Pearl (decided that she is a female) now nearly 22" and even fatter, this girl can eat and will eat anything and is very aggressive so far she has eaten a 14" eel Anguila reinhardti and 3 8" crayfish that were intended as cleaners and killed anything that has been put in the tank that was to big to eat. Not game to try any large cats incase she tries to eat them. Though the crays did not seem to bother her
About a week after I first posted this despite the parameters being normal she suffered a remission of the bacterial infection that causes the blisters/lumps on the operculum which is common in Jars kept in poor water. It was pretty ugly decided not to muck around and gave her an injection of oxytetracycline with a follow up 48 hours later this stopped it, but as you can see the result, she is no beauty queen now. The lateral line erosion is slowly receding unsure as to wether it will completely heal ?
Some might say she is ugly but to me she is the epitome of Jar behaviour and has great personality. Sad that she was treated the way she was by the previous owner but seems to have finally gotten over her issues. Going to move her into an 8x3x3 and see how big she will grow as I need the 6x2.5x2.5 for my Green. pic as always is pretty average
